Does Digitalradio interfere with analog cable programmes?

All available information tells us digital radio DAB + as well as  digital TV (DVB-T) will not interfere with your cable recption.

    Technical information:
Due to the use of same frequencies at the same time (Channel 5/Kanal 5) in some cable networks and in digital radio there may be transmisson interruptions in older and faulty distribution systems.

Transmission interruptions may also occur if you are using old and often-used cables between  socket and TV receiver. We propose to only use double-secured cables with at least 85mm Schirmmass.

If you experience any interruptions please contact your cable network provider or a cable specialist. They will be able to offer advice.

    Digital radio explained

Digital radio is the amalgamation of programme - linked text, pictures and data delivering in-depth information on current programmes, audio on-demand offers, audio slideshows ( from CD cover to live football table) and even an EPG, an electronic programme guide. Digital radio connects radio and interactivity!*

    *depends on radio set

Do I need a new radio set to receive Digitalradio?

Yes! You can´t receive Digitalradio with your analog radio set. Also DAB-only radios are not prepared to receive the new standard DAB+. On time for Germany´s  Digitalradio start all specialist shops and larger chains will offer DAB+ receiver, from 50 Euro onwards!

Is it possible to receive Digitalradio in my car ?

Yes. Digital radio is available in your car. It´s here where many of the new services will fully unfold, e.g. the automatic library lookup providing easier listening.

Can I receive Digitalradio all over Germany ?

From 1st August 2011 onwards digital radio is available in 27 areas. Here you can find your individual receiving prognosisfor your area.

In near future the transmitter network will be enhanced. From 2015 it will be possible to listen to Digitalradio programmes in more than 100 broadcasting areas of Germany. That will bring all new nationwide programmes nearer to your home.

Regional broadcast digital radio stations have their own transmitter network, not linked with the nationwide transmitter network.

That will allow you to listen to your regional transmitted programmes from the start of digital radio in Germany while you might have to wait some months to receive the nationwide programmes.
